Carrots and sticks!

Carrots and sticks!

We've been having a lot of conversations recently about measurement and metrics in our product and tech teams. When Chris, our Head of Product, and I first started raising this subject, there were some surprisingly nervous responses. "Are we going to be beaten up on how many

Why can't you tell me the price?

Why can't you tell me the price?

Is it just me? You are buying technology or subscribing to a service, you get all the way through understanding what you need, the plan, and the cost, only to be hit with the Contact Sales button without any clue about the price. Why can't they just simply

Solving the payment screening bottleneck

Solving the payment screening bottleneck

Compliance shouldn’t be a speed bump. It’s time to revamp your payment screening process. For a regulated industry like banking, the ability to screen payments is a core requirement for operational health. Many compliance teams approach this by using the conventional playbook of either conducting manual reviews or

Naming things is hard

Naming things is hard

At the start of last year, the entire FoundryOS team squeezed ourselves into a meeting room to plan out the roadmap for the next quarter and beyond. We weren't starting from a blank sheet, but there were plenty of thoughts and ideas that were loosely defined and somewhat

I thought it was just a migration

I thought it was just a migration

At the start, I genuinely thought this was going to be straightforward. Move an Oracle database, build a new environment, connect everything together and that’s it. It sounded clean when we spoke about it. Something you could plan out, follow step by step and just get done. It didn’

Building cloud platforms on a blank canvas

Building cloud platforms on a blank canvas

Most cloud platforms aren’t designed; they’re inherited. They evolve. They’re patched, extended, reworked over time. Ours wasn’t. We started from scratch. When you’re starting with a blank canvas, everything is a decision, and at the beginning, I didn't even realise how many decisions

FoundryOS's multi-tenant architecture

FoundryOS's multi-tenant architecture

When we set out to design the cloud infrastructure underlying the FoundryOS platform, we wanted to make sure that we could build a scalable, multi-tenant environment that was aligned to the needs of regulated financial services businesses. We started with a set of principles that are enshrined throughout our

Let's not make hiring so complicated

Let's not make hiring so complicated

More and more companies are making their hiring processes overly complicated and longwinded. It's become commonplace to hear about companies having five or more rounds of interviews in a hiring process. What's the advantage for them? It's certainly not an advantage for the candidate,

Beneath the Surface of Financial Services

Beneath the Surface of Financial Services

Part I: Why I Care I did not grow up understanding money. I did not know how saving worked, what investing meant or why people planned for their financial future as if it were obvious. Sure, I had a piggy bank, but that was the extent of it. The closest

The 5 stages of AI grief

The 5 stages of AI grief

A few years ago, I was sat at the back of a town hall meeting at 11:FS, as our CEO talked through our strategy for the year and where he saw the major focus points and innovation opportunities. "...and of course, AI is going to be huge. It&

What does a composable architecture mean to us?

What does a composable architecture mean to us?

The FoundryOS platform offers multi-dimensional composability that allows you to go-to-market faster and to build more flexible solutions Most people view a composable architecture as a set of independent and reusable “building blocks” connected via APIs. This is all very powerful, allowing the blocks to be swapped,

What impact do you want to make?

What impact do you want to make?

When we bring a new engineer into FoundryOS, there’s one clear expectation: Ship code to live within 3 weeks of joining. This isn't a KPI. It’s not about pressure. It’s about impact. Nothing kills energy faster than sitting in meetings, talking about problems, debating hypotheticals.

Identity data is much more than compliance

Identity data is much more than compliance

FoundryOS’s identity data gives you a foundational ‘customer genome’ for disruptive digital solutions A customer genome is not a new concept but at FoundryOS we believe a digital solution needs to focus around an ‘audience of one’. Every individual customer has a unique genome consisting of observed and verified

Why do banks never turn any technology off?

Why do banks never turn any technology off?

Let’s be honest it isn’t just banks, it's most big companies. A new system is brought in but the “legacy” system isn’t turned off and runs alongside the new system for ever - less usage but still there… Leaving an ongoing legacy of complexity and cost!

How do you store your identity data?

How do you store your identity data?

Have you ever been asked by Compliance or the Regulator about historic customer data and felt your heart sink? * What did you know when, and how is that maintained as time moved on? * On what basis did you make the decisions you made at that time? * Can you tell the
